Hello,
My name is Abigail. I am Mike's little sister and one of his biggest advocates. As pastor's kids, we grew up serving with our Father at convalescent homes on Saturday mornings. That is where we developed our love for service and worship. Our dad would assign us all roles in ministry for that day and we would be so excited to make the seniors feel loved and known. Later on, our Father began to Pastor his own churches and we were then groomed to serve in a worship capacity. Those tools we learned with Dad permeated into our identity.
Everywhere Mike went he was finding someone in need to bring home, extending his arms for more young men like him to feel loved and known. Yes, he has always been an amazing big brother but seeing him transform into a great dad, an accomplished musician, a post-911 military army veteran and a relentless provider for his family have made me respect him even more. You rarely see men step up as caregivers for their children the way Mike did and without him home, his boys' life is incomplete.
In 2018, Mike was unjustly sentenced to 18 years in prison for a crime that he did NOT commit. 18 years, no priors.
So, as you can imagine, the past four years have been a rough road for our family. The same year Mike was wrongfully imprisoned, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and two years later (almost a month after my last surgery) our Father passed. Mike sat in that cell throughout the hardest time of our lives, denied the opportunity to attend my father's funeral while being mistreated and underserved, but now it is time for his release.
We have been scavenging the nation for years for adequate representation and have finally found a legal team equally as passionate about Michael experiencing the justice he deserves as a citizen of the United States of America.
With your help, we will fight these unjust actions:
1. Denial to view surveillance videos and additional evidence that would have exonerated him.
2. His previous attorney's denial of the opportunity for his case to be separated from the co-defendant fighting another case in the same courthouse.
3. The court's denial of Mike's separate jury of 12.
4. The court's approval of a jury of victims of the alleged crime to serve as active jurors during his trial.
5. Prosecutor's misconduct (threatening witnesses).
6. The court's decision to allot $11,000 in restitution fines and fees to his account without a hearing & after clearly stating that NO restitution would be imposed and more...
The Sixth Amendment guarantees the rights of criminal defendants, including the right to a public trial without unnecessary delay, the right to a lawyer, the right to an impartial jury, and the right to know who your accusers are and the nature of the charges and evidence against you.
Every American deserves the right to a fair trial. And we are believing that with the help of friends and our community, we can get Mike the justice he deserves that will inevitably return him to his growing boys and family.

Join us in fasting and prayer (every Thursday) around this scripture for Mike and our family.
Ephesians 3:20-21 - Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, a world without end. Amen.
Pray with us: God, you can do anything! And we believe that you will finish the work you have started in Michael's life! As Joseph grew in identity and stature in prison, we thank you for your grace on Michael and we praise you in advance for his timely release. We will not hesitate to give you glory and honor at each step. In Jesus' name, Amen.
