Free from Medical Financial Ruin

Hello friends and neighbors. On July 6, something bit me. I started documenting it and, of course treating it. Mind you, at the time I was in a very remote place in Montana- hospitalization was 14 miles by horse drawn carriage to a trail head, and another 90 to a hospital. By July 13, the reality hit this was getting worse. I came to Livingston MT hospital. Over the course of past week, doctors have dealt with the original bite/wound. Sadly, the bacterial infection latched into a previous breast injury, and my left breast is severely compromised. There is considerable discussion of having a masectomy  to remove the appendage and stop the spread. The site pain, infection and psychological wounds continue to rachette up. What makes this even more unbearable? Like many during this age of unexpected unemployment during a COVID-19 world, I am caught in between medical coverage. That's right, I'm 55, have paid my taxes, worked hard in the fields of education and community advocacy,  and have ZERO health insurance at the moment. Am I at fault? Am I the irresponsible one? Perhaps. Or perhaps, like so many in the US i rely on my employer to help offset the costs of insurance.. and now I'm stuck. I've been in Livingston Healthcare hospital for 8 days now.  And will be here longer. I need help. Its with a whole lot of self loathing and humility that I ask - Please, can anyone help me? I'm applying for Medicaid, Montana Uninsured Funds, etc. But I ask - if you can help me ensure these good doctors , nurses and ancillary medical team can get paid, I'd feel a whole lot better.
