About the Free Farmstand Program
For the past 2 years Sarvodaya Institute has distributed our harvest to the community for free through our Free Farmstand program. What started as a table set up with produce bins at the entrance of our farm has grown into a fully built structure with power, water access, and a refrigerator.
Every Saturday morning we distribute our culturally-relevant, organic specialty crops, and now with the addition of a fridge we can stock even more fresh and frozen groceries to the community.
Produce and food is always free for our neighbors, whether they are experiencing food-insecurity, raising young children, or facing economic hardships.
About the Fundraiser
Sarvodaya Institute is raising funds to sustain the Free Farmstand program through 2026. We look forward to expanding our services and enhancing the experience for our community members when visiting the farmstand. Some improvements we are working towards include:
- adding art and murals from local artists to the farmstand structure
- planting more edible plants around the farmstand for the community to access
- hiring local community members to harvest and manage the program
- building a Little Free Library to increase literacy and access to education in our community
- strengthening partnerships with local mutual aid groups and food suppliers
- ...and more!

Our Mission: Sarvodaya Institute works towards the upliftment of all, recognizing that we are all part of one great life and that our individual healing is our collective healing. Our work starts in the garden, a place where we can recognize ourselves in the soil, plants, insects, animals, and each other. We recognize all of this Earth (including all people) as one garden, requiring care and love.
