FREE Learning Pod And Instruction To Pasadena-Area Families In Need
JMG SportsWise is a unique company that combines tutoring with enrichment. JMG Teaching Assistants will supervise a small group of students during and between their online classes to promote comprehension, engagement and help with homework assignments. They will create a small, in-person learning pod that is socially distanced and customized for the students' needs and lesson plans, including, but not limited to: Math, Science, Social Sciences, English. Depending on the day’s course load, Teaching Assistants will work in various sports to break up the online lessons.
The overarching goal of this free pod is to create more equitable educational outcomes for children in the Pasadena area. All students participating in this free learning pod qualify for the Title 1 - National School Lunch Program.
Pod Details:
- Mon, Wed, Fri, 8:30am -12:30pm (Tentative)
- Teaching Assistants will help students with distance online learning
- Enrichment during the breaks in between.
- Grades K-2 or 3rd-5th, whichever group fills up first.
- 7 students maximum, 1 Teaching Assistant/Coach
- Students will bring their own snacks, face masks, school supplies, and sports equipment.
- Social distancing to be observed at all times.
- Clean/Safe Work Stations and Wifi provided.
- $4800 will pay for 1 educational pod for 1 month.
- All funds raised will go directly towards creating and executing a fully sponsored learning Pod
Teacher Assistant (TA):
JMG hires and trains employees with backgrounds in Early Childhood Development, Psychology, Education. They have also participated and taught at pro, semi pro, collegiate or club in their specific Sport. JMG teaching assistants have both the experience and the passion to teach children! All JMG teaching assistants and coaches have been through a background check, a two-step interview process and are paid a living wage.
JMG SportsWise:
JMG SportsWise is a local, family-owned & run business. Using sports and tutoring as a vehicle, they teach kids socialization skills, communication, self-reliance and self-confidence . For the past 10+ years, JMG has worked with thousands of youth, ages pre-Kindergarten to High School level, at over 25 schools in Southern California, including: Alma Fuerte, Chandler, St. James Episcopal School, Tree House, Montessori, Odyssey, Rosebud, Stratford, Aveson and Woodbury Preschool Village.
