It all started last year as my life was turn up side down. In April 2018 someone rear ended me and I got spinal injuries such as herniated & bulged discs.
Than the month of May came along as I got diagnosed with Breast cancer.
seemed as if I got on to a wild roller coaster of events as I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
One biopsy was not enough; as an MRI showed further more masses were revealed so I find myself been poked at with 3 more biopsies, while some were MRI guided.
just to find out that the cancer spread to one lymph node.
While at it the oncologist started to send me to all the possible tests. CT scans, bone Scan, more blood work, genetic testing, Brca testing, and the list is long!
All along takes time, effort and missing out on employment hours.
Not having health insurance at the time, had me in a scenario of having to pay for biopsy out of pocket. (Which I still owe the money for it)
The hospital Which discovered the mass in my breast required $7000 per a biopsy!
Fast forward took almost 5 months until I actually
had my Double mastectomy surgery, with a lymph nodes dissection which in the process eliminated 9 lymph nodes while one was positive.
A breast reconstruction surgery right along side of the mastectomy done by a plastic surgeon.
Which as long as a plastic surgeon operates it always appears to be cosmetic surgery and is not covered by health insurance.
Recovery from such A major surgery takes time and effort along side with physical therapy for the arm that gets affected by the lymph node removal is there is a disturbance to muscle ligaments and nerve endings due to this kind of surgery.
Laboratories charge a fortune for every test.
Cancer is a very expensive industry!
No one can really afford it!
I know I couldn’t afford it, and this is why I’m trying to get funded, as I would like to have a better life to live, rather than stay overwhelmed with all of the bills that keep coming, and the debt that collected in the meantime
