Please help free Angel from ICE prison! Angel was illegally detained by ICE in late December 2025 as he drove to work, and has been suffering there since.

Originally from Nicaragua, Angel was an activist who fought hard in the 2018 Azul y Blanco political movement, working for a free and democratic society. As a result, he was nearly killed by the Nicaraguan government and was ultimately forced to flee in 2019.

He is also a member of the LGBTQ community. In the United States, he finally felt safe enough to be his full self, and lived what he describes as "the happiest years of [his] life" with his long-time partner.

All of that was suddenly and illegally stripped away when he was pulled over, even though he has official permission to work from USCIS.

Angel has received free representation in his removal proceedings before the Immigration Court but needs help paying for representation in a habeas petition, which will challenge his arrest and ongoing detention in federal court.
