Fredy Pineda's Treatment & Medical Bills

Hello. My name is Stephanie. My mother Leticia, my sister Sofia & I are fundraising for my Uncle Fredy. Fredy has recently been diagnosed with advanced stage 4 cancer of the liver.

Fredy came to this country by himself about 25 years ago to be able to give his family in Honduras a better life. He recently retired but has worked in construction for the past 25 years in Virginia. He is well known in the Hispanic community in Springfield, VA. Despite this, Fredy doesn't have much of a support system, except his youngest daughter who lives in Washington DC, but has to commute 2 hours one way just to get to him. She is also a single mother which makes it difficult to see him often.

Although my mother and my sister live in Massachusetts and I live in Florida, we are worried that if we take him away from his community, he will end up isolating himself and making his condition worse.

Fredy has mentioned that he wants to go back to his family in Honduras. As a family, we discussed his wants and we all agree that it would be best that he is surrounded by his loved ones who will be able to care for him & he will be able to receive the attention that is required. There he will also have the emotional support he needs from his wife and children.

Please help us bring Fredy back home to be able to receive the love & the treatment that is needed.

Hola. Mi nombre es Stephanie. Mi madre Leticia, mi hermana Sofía y yo estamos recaudando fondos para mi tío Fredy. Fredy ha sido diagnosticado recientemente con cáncer avanzado de hígado en etapa 4.Fredy llegó solo a este país hace unos 25 años para poder darle a su familia en Honduras una vida mejor. Recientemente se jubiló, pero ha trabajado en la construcción durante los últimos 25 años en Virginia. Es bien conocido en la comunidad hispana en Springfield, VA. A pesar de esto, Fredy no tiene mucho sistema de apoyo, excepto su hija menor que vive en Washington DC, pero tiene que viajar 2 horas de ida solo para llegar a él. Ella también es una madre soltera, lo que hace que sea difícil verlo a menudo. Aunque mi madre y mi hermana viven en Massachusetts y yo vivo en Florida, nos preocupa que si lo alejamos de su comunidad, terminará aislándose y empeorando su condición. Fredy ha mencionado que quiere volver con su familia en Honduras. Como familia, discutimos sus deseos y todos estamos de acuerdo en que sería mejor que esté rodeado de sus seres queridos que podrán cuidarlo y podrá recibir la atención que se requiere. Allí también tendrá el apoyo emocional que necesita de su esposa e hijos.
