Fredquan Darell Davis Born November 7,2006 to Fredrick & Iyana Davis in Baton Rouge, LA. December 19,2006 approximately 6 days before Christmas Fredquan was 5 weeks old, while in the care of a trusted in home babysitter he was shaken. This resulted in (SBS ) Shaken Baby Syndrome, (TBI) Traumatic Brain Injury, and scoliosis and caused Fredquan to be wheelchair bound. Fredquan ate through a feeding tube , he was unable to do anything for himself. He couldn’t even bend his legs, or talk. No charges were filed through the EBR Police Dept. because they claimed those kinds of cases were hard to prosecute in court. After requesting medical records it was determined that the incident was not accidental even though the babysitter claimed Fredquan fell out of the car seat. After being hospitalized for months, he began to slowly make progress on his own in other areas. Fredquan was accompanied by 8 other siblings that helped and cared for him. On September 11,2021 Fredquan was rushed to the Children’s Hospital where he was unresponsive for more than 30 mins losing oxygen to his brain, and adding on to the trauma he had already endured. This weakened his heart and caused him to pass. Earlier this year he started having seizures, so it seemed like the older he got the more he was starting to go through. On September 11 early that day he just seemed so different so I gave him a bath and washed his hair and fully clothed him. I propped him on the pillow in the bedroom and kept walking in and out of the room just keeping an eye on him. The last time I walked in he was not breathing. At this time me and the family would like to thank everyone for all of their continued support and we ask that you donate whatever you can so that we can give Fredquan a wonderful homegoing celebration.
