The "Strathmore Bagel Family" Fund

The Mutschler family suffered a devastating loss on March 24th when Julie’s oldest son, Fred, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Julie, Fred and Rob have been a part of the Comsewogue Community for decades and are the long-time owners of Strathmore Bagels in East Setauket. They always give back to the community as well as the surrounding school districts. Their family owned bagel store has been the “first job” for many of our kids. Fred was an integral part of the bagel store and worked closely with all the teens, teaching them how to work with customers and do a good job. Rob is always the jokester who keeps it fun but also spends countless hours making the most tasty bagels in town. And Julie is a pseudo grandma to the kids that are employed there. She keeps everything running smoothly and treats her young staff like family. With Fred's sudden and unexpected passing, nothing is going to be the same anymore for Julie or Rob or anyone that Fred touched with his witt and warm personality. Now the Mutschler family who has always given to those in need, needs the help and support of our community to chip away at the mountain of medical bills left from Fred’s lengthy hospital stay. Julie and Rob are having great difficulty making ends meet and paying their bills. It would be an enormous weight off of their shoulders if they did not have to worry so much about paying the growing stack of medical bills. No grieving mother should have to worry about medical bills after the passing of her beloved son and neither should a brother. It is now time for our community to give back to the Mutschler family and help them in whatever way we can. Fred would be quite happy to see the Community he grew up in, lived in and did so much for over the years, help his mother and brother in this very trying time.
