As most of you know by now, Fred suffered a tremendous tragedy during Hurricane Harvey in Houston this week. His home and car were completely flooded, and he lost almost everything. He DOES NOT have flood insurance.
Thankfully, after much research and many phone calls by family members, Fred was finally rescued by boat on August 29 by a volunteer, and taken to safe shelter. He has also received shelter from family members. His home is still under water and once the water recedes, it will take weeks to tear out the ruined carpet, padding, drywall & insulation; clean, de-contaminate, and completely dry out before reconstruction can begin.
Fred was able to register with FEMA, along with 450,000 other people, but I (Fred’s cousin) and his other family members would like to set up this Go-Fund-Me account to help provide Fred with more immediate assistance so he can begin to rebuild his life. Please don’t feel obligated to contribute, particularly those of you in Houston who may have also experienced property damage or other loss. But if you would like to contribute to help my cousin, Fred, I would be grateful for any amount of assistance you can provide.
Thank you all in advance for your act of kindness in Fred's time of need. I can't imagine the devastation and loss he is going through. Please forward this to any of Fred’s friends who are not on this email, and share on Facebook and with your email contacts where appropriate.
