Napton Family Needs Help With Fire Recovery

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Kaylen Larsen and my sister is Lacey Napton. Lacey and her husband, Daniel (Ed) Napton, along with their 6 children, ages 8 through 20, have a 4 acre homestead just outside of Frederick South Dakota, where they operate Her Sacred Circle Animal Sanctuary. They are seeking help in raising the money needed to set their home up before winter. First, they would like to thank everyone who has helped them already during this very difficult time.
On April 21st, 2023, they returned home after running errands to find their house in flames. Many of their pets, including new chicks and a couple of sanctuary animals were in the house and unable to be saved. Everything in their home and in a nearby storage shed was destroyed. The shed contained every income producing item they had. All of their power tools and equipment were lost and a sizable inventory of antiques that they sell online. They did not have any homeowners insurance which has magnified their devastating loss.
The road has not been easy. The loss of their home, pets, and income has taken a great toll on them on top of the normal stress of having 4 teenage daughters and 2 busy little boys. Despite the hardship, their faith and their grit has kept them hopeful.
They have had another mobile home moved onto the property and will finally be getting the title transferred next week. Now there is a lot of work to do and winter is right around the corner. It will cost at least $7500 for well digging and plumbing installation. MDU wants about $8000 to run electricity to the house, therefore the plan is to stay with the off-grid lifestyle and purchase a solar kit for about $2600. The septic tank also needs to be installed which will be an estimated $5000. They have been “camping” all summer. They are mentally, emotionally, and physically worn out and desperately need help coming up with the money to pay for this work to be done, rather than struggling through the DIY process like they did the first time.
If you are reading this and have already donated, we thank you! Please share it with others on your Facebook feed or at work or through email; whatever works for you so that those who enjoy giving and are able to, have the opportunity to help. If you yourself are able to donate, even if it’s just $5, we thank you. Please remember to share as well. If you are unable to share this and donating is not an option for you, please support them through prayers or kind thoughts. Sometimes those are more powerful than anything. I’m leaving the original post next for anyone not familiar with their story.
Thank you and God bless

~The family was not home when the fire started. The most devastating loss has been that of the dearly loved pets in the home. Three dogs, two cats with one litter of 5 kittens, a pair of bunnies, their six babies and a parakeet were lost in the blaze. Also inside were 2 large brooders filled with approximately 70 baby turkeys, ducklings, and chicks. The family recently started Her Sacred Circle Animal Sanctuary because of their love for all animals, so the loss of these beloved pets has been very hard for them. Also lost in the blaze was their large inventory of antiques and collectibles that they sell, plus every single power tool and piece of equipment used in their painting and cleaning business. The Frederick and Columbia Volunteer Fire Departments and Brown County Emergency Management crew were able contain the blaze, preventing spread to nearby buildings, trees, and animals, but the home and shed were completely destroyed. There is no obligation, but if you find it in your heart to donate and have the means to do so, it is greatly appreciated. If it is not in your means, sharing this is also incredibly appreciated!

God Bless,
Kaylen and all the Napton’s
