Hello, my name is Frederick S. Wilson, and this year has truly tested me in ways I never imagined. On August 15th, 2025, I lost my job of nearly 25 years—a position that had been my livelihood and source of stability. I spent two months searching for new work and was grateful to find a job at Saltgrass Steakout. But just five weeks in, after finishing a shift, I suffered a stroke caused by a blood clot. I was rushed to the hospital and, thankfully, survived, but my life has changed dramatically since then.

Now, I rely on a walker to get around, and my vision is impaired, making it impossible to return to work. The hospital discharged me after a few days, and since then, I’ve been struggling to keep up with everyday expenses. The bills are piling up—medical costs, food, taxes, and utilities—and due to recent changes in government, I lost my health insurance and can’t even begin to pay for the care I need. I never thought I’d be in a position to ask for help, but right now, I have no other choice.
