It deeply saddens me to create this page. On Friday, August 1st, Freddy Simpson (49), a father of two with a larger-than-life personality and a familiar face in the GNCC racing community, suffered a cardiac arrest while returning his boat from Cape Fear River in Wilmington, North Carolina. I am setting up this GoFundMe page in an effort to assist his family in covering the substantial hospital bills they are accumulating while Freddy fights for his life in the ICU.

Freddy is currently on life support and undergoing EEG testing to assess his brain function. His healthcare team has been incredibly supportive, diligently managing his condition and providing care to his family. Jennifer Simpson, his wife, has been spending every day by his bedside.

Please consider donating. Anything helps. Any contribution, even if it is just a funny picture/memory that you may have of Freddy would be greatly appreciated. No family should have to worry about covering hospital bills while also managing other recurring expenses at home. It goes without saying that Freddy is now without an income. And if he pulls through he will have a long recovery/rehabilitation process ahead of him. We are all praying for the best possible outcome
