Walter Fred “Freddy” Bollinger III, 51, of Flowery Branch, unexpectedly passed away on May 11, 2023.

Freddy was born on August 24, 1971 to Judy Bollinger and the late Fred Bollinger in Atlanta, Georgia. As a child, Freddy was a red-headed goofball who developed an early love for baseball, singing, and making people laugh. After he graduated from Shiloh High School in 1989, he joined the YWAM Hawaii 5-month missions training program. After completion, he came on staff leading teams to Fiji and The Philippines. In 1993, he returned to Georgia, where he went on to study Broadcasting at Toccoa Falls College.

Freddy’s enthusiasm and charisma carried him through a varied career in both sales and youth mentorship. In 2000, Freddy married Jamie, his soulmate and eternal Buddy who he loved endlessly. Together, they have been on staff and in volunteer positions serving faithfully and whole-heartily in the church and community with a strong vision and passion to see people come to know and walk with the Lord.

Freddy was a kidney transplant survivor (since 2017) and eternally grateful for his living donor and friend, Rebekah (Tatum) Hyman. All who knew him will miss his larger-than-life presence; his wide smile, infectious laugh and bear hugs followed by a “Love you” or a “Good Game” with a pat on the butt. He loved fiercely, in both his personal relationships and athletics, especially the ‘Dawgs. Freddy had an unapologetic passion for life, and the Lord, that he shared with all who were blessed enough to meet him.

His family and friends are shocked by the unfathomable loss but comforted by the certain fact that he ran his race to the fullest and is now face to face with His Lord & Savior, in the presence of Jesus. He has heard the Lord say, “Welcome home, good and faithful servant.” Freddy’s favorite and lifelong verse is “I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for” Jer. 29:11 (MSG).

Survived by His devoted and beloved wife, Jamie Bollinger, his mom, Judy Bollinger and a host of extended family. We appreciate your support and for sharing this with your community to help Jamie cover Freddy's funeral, medical, and other expenses.
