Freddie Fox medical bills

Christina, Dave, & big brother Charlie welcomed Freddie into their family in February. Freddie loves to explore the world with his hands and listen to music and voices — especially Charlie’s. He has a huge smile; one grin can brighten any room. Freddie was born with multiple neurological and craniofacial midline anomalies, including polymicrogyria, septo-optic dysplasia, and mega cisterna magna. He needs multiple medications for epilepsy and hormonal deficiencies, and uses a feeding tube for nutrition.  In mid-September, Freddie was also diagnosed with chronic lung disease and a recent moderate to severe brain injury, adding constant oxygen monitoring and a slew of additional emergency medicines and devices to his home treatments.

Christina says: "Freddie is on Dave's work insurance, but even with insurance Freddie's medical costs have put us in debt. I’ve put Freddie on a couple of the #Medicaid waiver wait lists — whichever he qualified for. Last time I checked, he had an approximately 16-year wait for one and a 7-year wait for the other."

Many of Christina & Dave's family members and friends are not local to give hands-on help  through all of these challenges and, even if we were, the COVID-19 pandemic would make that difficult. For those of us who want a tangible way to support Freddie's family, I have asked Christina for her permission to create this fundraiser to help ease some of the financial strain. Christina & Dave have enough on their minds dealing with doctors and medical treatments, and caring for both of their little ones without also worrying about the financial impact.

Note that this does not cover all of their out-of-pocket medical costs incurred for Freddie.  I chose this amount to get started. If we beat this amount, that would be amazing. Christina & Dave appreciate any amount that people are willing to share.
