Fred Jorgensen needs your help!

My brother Fred Jorgensen is one of Newfoundland's most beloved performers, currently as a member of the Navigators and previously a member of Fine Crowd. If you know him, you love him. Fred has touched the hearts of people all over the world with his commanding on stage presence. If you have ever seen him perform you know that he doesn't just sing a song, but he puts his whole heart and soul into the music and stops you in your tracks, pulling you into the song making you feel everything it was written to make you feel. Fred is a one of a kind artist, a constant friend and my brother.

I cannot imagine a world without him and making sure he has everything he needs to get well is now my life's goal.

My brother has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of lung cancer which has left him unable to work or perform while he undergoes a gruelling schedule of chemotherapy and radiation. He has not been able to work for several months now and is likely to be unable to return to performing for up to a year.

While his doctors are optimistic about his prognosis, Fred has a very long hard road ahead of him and myself and his family want to do what we can to ease the financial burdens he's facing while unable to earn a living to support himself. As a self employed musician, he has no medical insurance and as a cancer patient, as well as being an insulin dependent diabetic, prescription costs are an extra concern, along with the rising cost of living.

Today is Fred's birthday and I'd like to make this the best birthday ever for him and wipe away some of the financial worries hanging over his head so he can focus all of his energy on healing and recovery.

Fred's good friend and band member Arthur O'Brien has organized a benefit concert on January 16, 2026 at the Jag Soundhouse. If you can support him by attending, please do.
