April 1st Update : Not a joke .

Fred had surgery today on his collarbone. He is in alot of pain but his levels are good. One step forward. He still has his drain tube in.

My name is Liz Goodermote. I normally raise $ for other charitable purposes and volunteer all across the state of New York. This is my first time to ever have done something to this degree and it is not for me personally but it does effect me. My Family. We also help others and really never ask for ourselfs. So here is the story....

Last Sunday my boyfriend of 11 years, Frederick Hemming was in a four wheeler accident that turned into a very life threaten situation. It is surreal to even think that thought. You always want to think that it would never happen to you. But here we are. A simple accident gone wrong. Seriously wrong. A faith changing moment I was not ready for.

Accidents happen. Sucks but if you ride. You understand the risks of riding any motorized vehicles. Growing up riding dirtbikes most of my childhood. After brain surgery I had to give it up. Fred on the other hand is always up for an adventure.

Fred is the most giving and fun loving guy. He's always got a joke to share or a story of the time he did something stupid as a kid. This is not that time. It was just bad timing.

Fred only takes a day off a week. He decided to do something for himself and go riding in Nassau with friends. Almost at the end of the trail he was going around a corner and slid into a stump. He couldn't stop within the mud and leaves. He hit a stump and was thrown backwards into pine trees. Fred landed on his back flat against the tree on the left side. He slid down and got the four-wheeler back up with his legs. Another guy helped. Fred is way stronger than he looks. Years of lifting car parts. He was able to drive back home barely and I knew right away he was in pain.

We braced, wrapped and slinged him up. His thinking was he had bruised ribs and we knew he had the broken collarbone due to he has had skiing accidents. Day 3 is always the worst.

Day 3 he started coughing so hard it is possible that that's when he punctured and collasped the lung. We will never know. Only because our house has had sickness and thinking he was getting pneumonia.I finally made his stubborn butt go the next day and I barely got him there.

Come to find out he could of died if he didn't go then. When we got to the ER they started working on him right away. His oxygen level was at 80%.

They put in a chest tube without him being under. He didnt want me to leave until they sedated him. He is on the strongest drugs you can think of. Morphine, ketamine, oxys, thordal and Valium. This is the guy that barely takes tyenol. He spent two days in the ER with a team on him. I have barely slept.

He just made it to ICU and will have the chest tube draining until it runs clear. His oxygen and blood pressure are still not level. They are stable until he moves to much or coughs. I bathed him yesterday and today he got to sit in the chair with alot of assistance. He needs to just focus on breathing to get his levels stable before he can even think of getting up. We are at a day by day battle right now trying to get the lung back in action.

Fred is going to need all the love and support I got to nurse him back to health when he comes home. We are looking at least 3 to 6 months before he's really healed up. He is needing his friends and family like never before.

Fred is self employed. Fred is an artist and can restore anything. He has built cars from the frame up to the finished product. Fred built many cars for the Flower King of the North East. These classic cars have won him the fame of a top notch SHOW QUALITY painter. We have been travelling around to car shows for as long as we have been together. Fred is famous for setting up the Orange VW at shows with our friends VWs. His work has won many trophies and he knows the cars at shows that he worked on. He is not your average painter or fabricator.

Fred has also helped many friends and family around Nassau. Fred is always helping his friends and their families when they get into a jam for any reason. He always puts himself last.

This is our time to help and support him ❤️
