Fred Griffin's Healing Journey
Donation protected
As many have heard, Fred Griffin recently had surgery to remove a very rare brain tumor that he was diagnosed with back in May. The diagnosis was shocking, to say the least. Fred started having some issues about 2 years ago that slowly progressed.
He saw medical doctors, physical therapists, and chiropractors. Some said he had a pinched nerve; others just weren’t sure.
After multiple doctor appointments, Fred and Brenda were told he had a brain tumor about the size of a lime and would need a biopsy to determine what kind of tumor they were dealing with. So, on June 17th, at Chandler Hospital in Savannah, Fred had his biopsy done. After several weeks of waiting, Fred was referred to a specialist at Emory in Atlanta, where she confirmed that Fred had a High Grade Glioma HPAP Tumor, which is extremely rare and unique. She was confident in being able to remove the majority of the tumor but, due to its location, would not be able to totally remove it all. Fred had his surgery on Friday, November 8, and is doing well. He went back to Emory this past Thursday for a check-up and was told to continue to rest and heal; after the New Year, he will start chemotherapy and radiation at Mayo.
Fred, Brenda, Daniel, Erin, and the rest of the family want to thank you all for your prayers, texts, phone calls, and well wishes.
I know we are all struggling right now with the economy and our own personal struggles/challenges. Fred and his family have been a vital part of our community for years. Fred is not able to be in his shop every day, and his son, Daniel, is trying to keep it open but with limited hours due to his own business and family. This is Fred’s busy season, so with that being said, I’m asking if you can to please consider donating to Fred’s medical journey. He still has some hurdles to overcome: more tests, therapy, chemo, and radiation, along with travel expenses. If you can’t donate, just please continue to pray for Fred’s complete healing.
Thank you all and God Bless!
Please feel free to share; there is Power in Prayer!!
