Freak House Fire - Two Families
NOT WILDFIRE RELATED
Challenges were already present for these two families working in the hospitality industry throughout COVID, then the unthinkable, their house burned down, Saturday, September 26th!
THANKFULLY no one was injured (read more below about their furry family member, Nora - STILL MISSING!)
They had renter's liability insurance, but due to contract confusion from the landlord, NO RENTERS INSURANCE
All basics were lost :-(
FYI - THE FINE PRINT FOR THIS GFM
The two families are Abigail Lauren & daughter, Oakley and Joe Killian, Ash Kruse & their daughter, Flora.
The funds from this GoFundMe are being collected & managed by Joe's Mom, Deborah Killian Guinan to be split equally between the two beneficiary families after the GFM fees are taken out. We all reside in Colorado Springs, CO
Your donations will be used for things like:
1st and last month's rent on a new place to live, when something in their price range comes available on the market.
Clothing replacements for 3 adults and 2 children (Clothes cleaning, if possible.)
Kitchen needs - dishes, utensils, cups, knives, pots & pans, mixing bowls, etc.
Small appliances - microwave, toaster, coffee press, blender, etc.
Prescription replacements
Toiletries
Restocking pantries and refrigerators
Children's books, toys, & games
2 queen beds and bedding
2 children's beds and bedding
plants and decor
Art supplies lost
Craft supplies lost
Other needs may include:
Temporary housing
Co-pays for counseling
Vet bills (if Nora id found)
Child care (if needed during moving)
I am sure there are needs that we have not yet explored, but this gives you an idea.
Joe's art area - Joe supplements family income at art shows.
Kid's room

The families both have toddlers age three and four, so any children's items are appreciated (no need for gender specificity:-)

They also are still missing their precious rescue dog of 8 years, Nora. She was saved from the fire, but ran away and hasn't been seen since.

These families BOTH work in the service industry and can't take time off to do what is needed to re-build.
They are awesome peeps, always willing to help others. Can you lend a hand their way now?!
They need beds & bedding (2 queen beds, 2 toddler beds) all furniture, they lost books, plants, all kitchen items, (if you have ever restocked a fridge...) clothing, toys, art supplies, and they are looking for a new place to live and will need first and last month's rent. There are more things needed and sentimental items that can't be replaced, so they didn't know what amount of help to ask for, we are starting with $6000.00. If Nora is found she'll likely need Vet care.
Any funds donated will be split evenly between the two families.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING AND FOR HELPING!
