Freak Accident - Please Help My Aunt in Miami

On November 20, 2019, my aunt Ines took her normal bus route to her job from Miami to Coral Gables, FL. She does not drive and always commuted everywhere she went. She got off the bus at the same bus stop she had been dropped off at for years. She was walking to her job a few blocks away when she was struck by a car that lost control and pinned her against a pillar and the car.  The car was driven by an older man that pushed the gas rather than the break when pulling out of a car garage.

When the fire department got there, they noticed that the car had crushed her entire bottom half and immediately had to do a tourniquet and rushed her to the hospital. She was rushed to the OR and they had no choice but to amputate her left leg. It's been the most physical and emotional roller coaster for her and our family. By the grace of God she is here with us today but is facing some of the most difficult times ahead.

Today, my aunt Ines had her 6th surgery and this was the worst one yet. Her physical and emotional state is being tested every day, especially because she is struggling to pay for her day to day necessities. My family that lives there locally and all of us here in Dallas are doing everything we can to help but it is simply not enough. She has over $300k in medical bills and is struggling to make ends meet just to buy cleaning supplies to keep a sterile apartment to prevent from getting any infections.

As you can imagine, not only is this one of the most horrific freak accidents that could happen to anyone but we are all so blessed to have her here with us today to share her story.

I am starting this Go Fund Me as a way to help my aunt with her day to day finances as she is unable to work. This money will go towards her rent, utilities, food, cleaning supplies to keep her home sterile, dressing changes on her wounds, and all other bills.  She also needs a prosthetic to be able to get to her “new” normal. If anyone has gone through anything likes this knows that the bills don’t stop coming but if anything they start to pile up because you are unable to work. Please help out with any little donation that God has put in your heart to donate. Any amount is greatly appreciate and my family and I thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Please share this post with your friends and anyone that may be able to help us out.

I will continue to post her progress to recovery. May God bless you all for your generosity!
