FRESH Robotics- FRC Team 1811

When people are asked about the extracurriculars they participated in during their high school years, they do not typically mention robotics. However, nowadays, with STEM fields being a critical part of today's society, more and more students are choosing to immerse themselves in the activity.
The East Side High School robotics team, otherwise known as 'Team 1811' or 'FRESH' (FIRST Robotics at East Side High), is located in Newark, NJ. The program is a part of FIRST, and organization that strives to increase students' interest in STEM fields. 10 years ago when we first began, we never imagined the success that would avail. We never imagined winning qualifying matches, or making elimination rounds, yet here we are. Last year, we made it to elimination rounds at all competitions, and eventually competed at the District Championship at Lehigh University. This year, our successes are much greater, and we hope to compete at Lehigh again.
Unfortunately, our team has undergone immense budget cuts, limiting how many competitions we were able to participate in. We had one sponsor, but unfortunately, they were unable to work with us this year. The money you donate will go towards hotel fees, food for the students, transportation, and registration fees.
The money will be needed relatively soon (most likely by Sunday, April 10, 2016). The competition will be from April 13-16.
