FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international high school robotics competition that reinforces STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in real application, beyond classroom basics.
FRC Team 5572, The Rosbots, was started in 2014 with 5 students and has grown to 40 students. Our team has qualified for the World Championships each of our last five years. While this is an admirable achievement, the program is expensive.
This year the slimmed down budget for the robotics team is $50,000. NEISD has allotted $15,000, while the remaining $35,000 is raised by the student/parent booster club. Funds are solicited through corporate grants and personal donations. This GoFundMe page is one avenue for achieving our goal. All money goes to the program, there are no administrative costs, salaries, etc. Funds are spent on the student project - robot components, competition fees and food/travel expenses.
