FRC Team 6328 out of Littleton, MA is a first-year team competing in the 2017 FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition game.
In January, this year's game - FIRST Steamworks - was released and the team had 6 weeks to build a robot to play that game. From there the team went on to compete at the Granite State and Southern NH District Events. We had great success at these competitions, bringing home 3 rookie awards - Rookie Allstar, Rookie Highest Seed and Rookie Inspiration, as well as pulling off an event win at Southern NH! You can see the last 30 seconds of the match that won us the event below - huge thanks to our alliance partners Team 238 and 1073!
The team's performance earned us a spot at the New England District Championship, which was held at UNH April 5-8. At this event, the team ranked 8th out of 64 robots there, captained the 7th seed alliance, and brought home the New England Rookie Allstar award. This award and our robot's performance qualified our team for the World Championship being held in St. Louis, MO from April 26th-29th.
We need to raise major funds to attend this event, including a $5,000 registration fee, a bus to the event, and hotel rooms for our team members. Our goal as a team is to subsidize the costs for our student members as much as possible.
The students on this team have grown so much since our team's inception, and are extremely determined. They have been meeting nearly every day since the event kickoff back in January to build this robot from scratch, as well as design and implement robot improvements between events. As I type this description right now, we have a full group here working on even more improvements for Worlds. This truly is an incredible group of students, and we are in awe of all the team has accomplished in such a short time!
