Dear Family and Friends,

On March 3, 2020, the Frausto-Weerbrouck family lost our dearest Odaia “Ody” Frausto-Weerbrouck” in a tragic accident. Ody is survived by her husband Chris and three young girls. She was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and friend who was loved by many. Ody was truly a special person and had the biggest heart anyone could ever imagine. Along with a wonderful heart, she loved enriching her mind through education. Ody was a 2002 graduate of Ysleta High School (El Paso, TX) and determinedly finished high school in only 3 years. She obtained a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Fayetteville State University, and subsequently her Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Ody had an everlasting thirst for the pursuit of knowledge and was a doctoral student at Regent University working towards a Ph.D. in Counseling and Psychological Studies as a full-time mom. She hoped to one-day help individuals who were victims of abuse and those suffering from mental health. Sadly, Ody’s goal of becoming Dr. Odaia Frausto-Weerbrouck, Ph.D. will never be realized.

There is no doubt that Ody was a shining example for her daughters. Her strong work ethic and passion for education were unmatched. Anayah her oldest daughter is currently an exemplary “A” student as a 5th grader. It would be no surprise that when her two little ones, Zaynah and Kirseah begin their education they too will be great students.

The Frausto-Weerbrouck Family is creating an entrusted fund to provide financial assistance for her daughters to one day be able to follow their mother’s academic journey. Although her goal was cut short, it is our hope that Ody’s legacy will continue to inspire her daughters and others. In the future, we wish to create The Odaia “Ody” Frausto-Weerbrouck Memorial Scholarship to help young mothers in their educational pursuits who also share in Ody’s passion for psychology and counseling. Your support and contribution will help in this endeavor. We sincerely thank you and appreciate your love and support.

Sincerely,

The Frausto-Weerbrouck Family
