---------->UPDATE - SEPT. 12th 2019:  A huge thanks to all who have donated thus far: your donation is immensely appreciated and has given the project legs!
A closer budgeting thankfully gives a less aggressive target so; great news there as well!
Additionally, the Wagon itself and the land on which it sits can’t be developed/used for anything beyond the current terms and therefore the site only requires restoration and cleanup of current structures.
Additionally and after review of the current and best options to lay a company framework around the endeavour – a Community Interest Company is the obvious choice and allow for the community to derive direct benefits from business activities.

Current budgeting:
GBP 5,000 Transportation, Truck Rental, Fuel
GBP 20,000 Warehousing fees (1 year)
GBP 15,000 Cataloguing (Canada, USA, UK)
GBP 15,000 Reproduction costs
GBP 15,000 Legal and Accounting fees
GBP  6,000 Site cleanup and restoration
Total GBP 76,000 approximately $124,000 CDN

Note estimates in Pounds Sterling but the Fund is in Canadian Dollars.  Further news to come as things develop and sincere thanks for your support!!!!!

A life Dedicated to the Creation of Art - "I will Never Give Up" The purpose of the fund is to establish and maintain an artist's retreat/walker's rest on the banks of the Crinan Canal,  Cairnbaan, near Lochgilphead, Scotland and to maintain and preserve the legacy and voluminous amount of artwork that  Fraser MacIver (Grant Fraser MacIver) created while at the site and throughout his life. Born in Montreal Canada and educated at;  McGill University, Banff School of Fine Arts and Rhode Island School of design;  Fraser travelled the globe extensively,  calling many places home and travelling to and or living in many places including but not limited to;  Montreal, Canada;  Victoria BC;  Vancouver BC;  Banff Alberta;  Rhode Island;  Malibu California;  Tulsa, Oklahoma; Edinburgh Scotland; Crinan Scotland, Greece, Italy,  and France. In the late 1990's Fraser settled into what would become his home and epicenter of his artistic life on the banks of the Crinan Canal near Lochgilphead, Scotland.  Fraser became a fixture along the canal, living a unique life off-grid and establishing himself as a colourful local character with a passion for life, art, and people. Quite sadly and suddenly, Fraser passed away on Sunday August 11th, 2019 at his Showman's Wagon near Crinan.      In one of his last messages to me 3 days before his sudden passing, Fraser stated emphatically to me that he "would never give up" pursuing and creating his art,  which hangs on walls in innumerable places across many continents.  Fraser's FB Page   In order to maintain and preserve this man's amazing legacy,  a Memorial Trust is now founded and will be used to; -  Collect,  catalogue, digitize, store and display his body of work (over 1000 pieces of art) - Refurbish and maintain the Wagon Studio and Showman's Wagon on the canal - Establish a memorial at the site and artist's retreat/hikers' repose where artists and walkers can gather and spend time in a magically bucolic setting creating their own works and hikers can have a rest before exploring footpaths in the Crinan Wood - an actual rainforest in Scotland. This is not a small undertaking and there is some urgency as the damp weather and state of some of the storage and living areas is in disrepair and threatens the survival of his work. In order to achieve this goal, a  CD $335,000 (Approx $250,000 US) target is set in order to carry out the work to be used to establish this not-for-profit undertaking to be used as follows- -  US$50,000 to gather ship and store, catalogue and display works of art (currently stored in several locations around the world). -  US$50,000 for upkeep and maintenance of the Wagon Site, including the building of an open air studio/ rest area, $10,000 of which to be donated to for upkeep of the historic Crinan Canal (currently over 220 years old) -  US$75,000 for legal fees and costs and land rents and permits. -  US$25,000 to be distributed in grants to local and international art schools and students. - US$50,000 for ongoing maintenance of the Trust and Memorial. There has been a huge outpouring of love and concern from the many friends, loved ones, and acquaintances Fraser has cultivated over the years and locally a deep desire has been expressed to maintain Fraser's site and spirit, which through this fund will live on and benefit the local artist's culture and area that he was welcomed into and called home for over two decades producing some of his best and most salient works.
