Fraser Hinde Eye Surgery
Donation protected
Fraser is a walking miracle, he has survived a very rare cancer is now 3.5 years post treatment. Unfortunately its not plain sailing, the after effects kick in. The excess chemo, radiation and car-t have taken there toll. He has cataracts on both eyes which require surgery, he has nearly lost vision and we urgently need to fund private treatment to save it. This is why we are asking for help.
During treatment we kept Frasers story private and we can not thank the NHS enough for what they achieved for us. We are now at a point where we need to go a different route.
Currently as a 6 year old, the vision loss he is experiencing is affecting every aspect of life. He can not see in any light, has to wear sunglasses at all times, has complete sight loss at night and sadly is falling over and everything is becoming a risk.
This has happened over a very quick time frame and as parents who have seen him go through so much- this is so heart breaking. We helped him through treatment to give him life- but this life we imagines with sight.
Fraser's eye loss is now having a detrimental affect on school, socialising and affecting his normally happy to lucky personality. He is becoming a shell of his former sell and can not understand why each day he is seeing less and less. he tells people he has 'bad eyes' and they do not work like others.
We have never asked for any help for anything during the years of pain we all endured, but now we really need the kindness of people to help us out as a family and help this incredible superhuman boy.
Fraser has already given so much hope to others and has shared his story and journey to raise awareness and help other families out. He was the face of Make-A-wish, he has had numerous newspaper articles and been on the news to just to try and make a difference.
But right now we do not have time on our hands and it is urgent to look for private surgery to help his sight and give him a better vision before his little brother joins the family. This is an urgently needed surgery.
We have been through the NHS to look at this treatment- but with the aggressiveness of the cataracts, he will likely lose full vision by the time it would be offered.
Please help this amazing, brave little boy have the sight of the world again!
