Fran’s Eye Care
Our dear friend, Fran Gaconnier, needs urgent surgery to repair a detached retina.
So that this does not become too much of a financial burden we have started a Go Fund Me to help cover medical expenses. The medical expenses include the surgeon, anesthesiologist, the surgery center and follow up care. Fran does not have health insurance, in part, because she left a lucrative career to address the loose dog problem in Dallas.
The doctor that diagnosed Fran’s condition, Dr. Jawad Qureshi, of Retina Center of Texas was very detailed and thorough with the exam and explaining the surgery and treatment needed. Fran feels confident in this doctor’s surgical skill. That is so important to feel confident and comfortable with your medical care. The surgery is scheduled for June 27, 2019.
The recovery will be tedious. Fran will need to be face down for most of the day for two to four weeks, depending on what the surgeon finds. Fran’s good friend, Dr. Jacky, will stay with her during her recovery period.
Everyone who knows Fran, knows of her warm, caring, and generous nature. She is always available to catch a loose dog, gnarly or friendly. She never says “No” to anyone needing help with dog behavior issues; always to willing help. Fran’s generosity goes way beyond dogs. She is always available for friends, neighbors and strangers to help with just about anything.
Please consider a donation and sharing this to help our Fran. God Bless.
Update: We have increased the goal to help cover unanticipated medical costs and living expenses during her recovery since she is unable to work. (Please see updates for more details)
