On the night of September 23rd Frank Bennett was attacked while walking to catch an Uber in Downtown Salt Lake City. It was a random act of violence and completely unprompted. The attacker came up from behind Frank, caught him off guard, and hit him in the face. The attack was enough to knock Frank out and drop him to the ground. Fortunately Frank had two amazing friends close by who jumped into action making sure Frank was ok and the attacker didn’t do anymore damage. The person who attacked him got away but the police were called and are working on the case.
Frank was rushed to the Emergency Room at LDS Hospital. His jaw and eye socket were broke and fractured in multiple places. A few days later he had a surgery to repair his jaw which required it to be wired shut with his teeth touching. He is currently unable to speak or eat. He will be wired completely shut for a minimum of 6 weeks and then the oral surgeon will slowly begin the process of opening his jaw up with the help of physical therapy. He will likely need more dental work once his jaw is open as a result of the trauma.
Frank does not have insurance and has a long road to recovery ahead of him. We are hoping to raise some money to help cover medical costs. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated! Thanks for your support!
