Hello, my name is Isabella Gonzales, but most people know me as Bella. I'm trying my best to put this into words, but this is all new to me. Recently my family and I received unexpected news; my dad, Frank Gonzales, has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer with metastasis to the liver. No one saw this coming, and it is definitely a massive shift in our lives. Many of you may know my dad from bus driving or through my brother Mikko and me. He is one of the kindest, most friendly people you will ever meet. Four years ago, he began bus driving for Sonora High School and immediately fell in love with it. He loves the kids he has had the pleasure of driving around. He loves what he does and enjoys every second of it. Unfortunately, this and many other things in his life and my family’s life have changed over the past four weeks. With all this craziness and chaos, my dad is still laughing and cracking jokes every day from the second he wakes up, and I know he will continue to do so. All of this is very new to my family; we are still in the process of understanding it all and getting all of his scans and tests completed. With the way things are looking, chemo is our only option due to the progression of my dad's cancer. That being said, we are exploring multiple options that may be available to him. My family and I are asking for support and positive thoughts and prayers as we go through this new chapter in our lives; anything would help. We will use this money for anything immediate that comes up with my dad or any future treatment that may be needed. My family and I are all hands on deck, and we will continue to support and be there for my dad. Thank you all so much!
