Frank’s 4x4x48 Challenge and The Karuri School Project
Donation protected
I have decided to raise money for the Karuri School Project and asking each and everyone of you who know myself or would like to get involved with providing education for children to donate to the cause. I will be running the David Goggins inspired challenge of 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. This will be a total of 48 miles across two days which is equivalent to almost 2 marathons. While it will be a difficult challenge it will be one worthwhile to raise awareness and funds for less fortunate children who do not have access to education.
The Karuri School Project was selected for several reasons. A key one being that project is over in Kenya which is my home nation. Having visited Kenya several times, I have seen the difference in living standards but also the difference in educational opportunities. A large majority of my family also reside in Kenya so having witnessed firsthand the financial strain education fees can have as well as when visiting seeing neighbours and local communities not all have access to quality education is very unfortunate.
With Kenya being a developing country, it makes access to quality education expensive and a challenge for local residents. Without proper education children grow up with less opportunities and are at a disadvantage. It is a blessing and fortunate that myself I grew up in the UK and we have access to free quality education regardless of background or finances.
I have also been able to speak to the chairperson John who has informed and told me of the great work that Wangari (Founder of The Karuri School Project) is doing and some of her friends here in Northampton who have known her before she moved back from Northampton to Kenya in 2010. The charity has no overheads as the people helping support the running of the charity from the UK are all volunteers so 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the cause.

Finally, the event commences Friday 30th May 8pm and the final run on Sunday 1st June 4pm. All runs will be recorded on Strava, and a videographer will be capturing the entire event. Thankyou in advance for all your donations and support!
