Franklin Park Staff Emergency Fund

Amidst the coronavirus outbreak, Franklin Park had to close its doors for two months. While we waited to come back to work, our debts accrued to our vendors, landlord and maintenance companies. Something our summers would usually remedy after a slow winter. We opened back up in late May of this year, and did our best to push through our summer—what was supposed to be our money season— was cut into a quarter of what we would normally make. We've reached the point in our finances, where we are looking to the community for help.
Franklin Park has called Crown Heights its home for almost 13 years, and in that time, we've grown to be a part of this neighborhood. We've grown to get to know each other, and share a space where we can feel acceptance and comfort.
Crown Heights Service Industry Workers formed from the staff here at Franklin Park, and are dedicated to continuing the message of fair wages, equality in the workplace, and creating a safe space to enjoy with the community. We're looking for security for our staff. A team of about 30 people are mostly without healthcare, stable housing, or secure employment or the eligibility for unemployment. We fear that if we don't make it through the winter, we'll be in vulnerable positions while coronavirus sees another spike in the city.
Most importantly, we need to make sure our staff is safe. We have to pivot to fewer hours, less shifts, meaning less money, so the urgency for staff is high. If you have the ability to donate, please do and if not, please pass it along to someone who might be able to help us out.
