Francesca King is one of the hardest working people I know. At just 20 years old, she is in full adult mode. She pays her own rent and bills, models in San Francisco, works for the catering department at UC Santa Cruz, works with her school to provide assistance to people with disabilities throughout campus, and still manages to earn stellar grades as a full time student -- not to mention all while being the best girlfriend to me that I could have ever asked for. 

In order to have more convenient access to her various jobs, and a better handle on her geographically spread out schedule, Franki spent much of 2016 saving up for her own car. By mid-fall, she'd managed to have saved up over $3,000 -- and bought her first car ever. It was a cute little Ford Focus she named Phoebe. Phoebe was a very faithful little car, and provided much needed convenience to Franki, helping her access her jobs that she depends on for income and travel to and from the Santa Cruz campus. 

Earlier today, Franki was on her way back from a gig she had in San Francisco when a car slammed on the breaks in front of her on the freeway. She didn't have time to come to a full stop before running into the car behind her, and when the Triple A tow-truck showed up, Franki was informed that her car had been totaled after only owning it for three months.

If there's one person I know that doesn't deserve this, it's Franki King. She works incredibly hard for everything she has in life and takes nothing for granted. She deserves to be able to access the jobs that pay her rent and support her life as a full time student. This isn't a cry for help -- this is giving back to someone who gives so incredibly much.
