Hello, I am creating this Go Fund Me for my Papa, Frank Martinez. For starters, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to read this. I am asking for help to raise funds for my Papa to go on a golf trip to Florida to play in a one armed golf tournament. For those of you who do not know my Papa, he suffered a tragic accident at the age of twenty-one, leaving his right arm completely paralyzed. Those of you that do know him know that it hasn’t stopped him from living a full life. He is a father, grandfather, and a great friend to many people. He worked 40 years at Whirlpool, spent 30 years as a volunteer fireman, and operated his own bar and grill, all with one arm. However, even after accomplishing all of these amazing feats, he still felt different. He always had to find ways to adapt to the world around him, nobody close to him truly understanding the hardships he made look so easy. He recently found NAOAGA, which is a one armed golf association. One thing to know about my Papa is he loves to golf— yes, he golfs with one arm! This organization is hosting a tournament for people with one arm from all over the United States. This will be the first time that my papa gets to be surrounded by people who are like him, the opportunity for him to feel “normal”. As great as the opportunity is, it is not a free event and he will be responsible for his travel/lodging, food, and the golf round itself. This is the reason we are creating this page, to make this trip a reality for him. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
