Frankie's Emergency Leg Fracture Surgery
Donation protected
Hello,
My partner Kat and I are fundraising to help cover an expensive vet bill we got hit with on New Years Day. If you know us, you would know that our chihuahua Frankie is our world and is incredibly loved by us in every way. She is the joy in our every day life and always making us laugh with her silly antics.
When we were visiting family in Canada for Christmas Frankie was staying with a friend. While out for a walk she accidentally fell while trying to navigate some stairs which resulted in a serious fracture on her front leg. The total estimate from the vet so far:
- £1200 for the X-rays, overnight care during a holiday and out of hours
- £4500 for surgery that will require to 2 plate, 4 screws and pins to be put in her leg and post op stay
- repeat x-rays under sedation every 6 weeks until the bone has healed and the cost of each set of x-rays will be in the region of £400. 2-3 further sets of x-rays are anticipated

- the cost of each dressing change will be in the region of £250.
- There might be more costs for further check ups and treatments but I don't have the figures for these at this time.

Frankie's surgery is scheduled for January 4, 2022.
The total cost is currently estimated to be between £7500-8500.
The total cost is currently estimated to be between £7500-8500.
We have insurance that covers up to £2000 (minus the £250 deductible) of the vet costs. This insurance policy is doesn't cover the majority of the costs and we need your help to get Frankie the surgery she needs.
I truly regret not getting the higher pet insurance coverage and I wish we could financially manage this unexpected vet bill on our own but we can't. Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and consider this request.
We humbly thank you for your support,
Chelsea , Kat & Frankie
