One week ago, a precious little, long lashed, brown eyed boy with the oh so...sweetest face... Frankie.... had a high fever and woke up in the middle of the night throwing up. He was to weak to even get out of bed. Earlier that day, he had a large bruise on his leg from a simple fall but before going to bed he seemed like his normal self...
laughing and making his brother and sisters smile.
The next day, he woke up with a pink rash on his chest. Jen had to go to work at MAC where she is has been a make-up store manager for many years. Mike came over to get the kids so she could go to work. That day began like any other for this family.... thinking that their little boy just had the common cold, nothing big, nothing out of the ordinary. Hours passed and soon Mike took little Frankie to the hospital because the rash did not look normal. They immediately rushed them to Rady's Childrens Hospital.
When Jen arrived to the hospital on the cancer floor..... her heart dropped and her mind went racing. Her world quickly came crashing down in minutes.
Endless doctors kept coming in and out of the room talking about the many tests they were about to run.... 12 hours later.... 6 year old Frankie was preliminarily diagnosed with Pre Cell b A L L Leukemia.... and then the next day.... he had is 2nd surgery where doctors performed a bone marrow test and it was confirmed.. that Frankie's fight. was. starting.
If you don't know Jen.... Here's a little bit of her story. Jen has been a single mother for the past 2 years. Her story though is not like many other seperated families. Her and Mike have a great relationship even through their seperation and meet up together weekly and have a family day with their 4 kids, Evanjalie 9, Jacob 7, Frankie 6, and Liberty 4..... because this is what brings these kids so much joy.
As this storm has abruptly unfolded for this family we are asking for prayers and your support.
Jen has taken off....unfortuntanely .....unpaid time from work to be with her Frankie and is now in a financial situation that is only adding to her stress.
Please fight along with Frankie as he is in the ring that he so desperately does not want to be in. Help this family find some joy in midst of their heartache.
