Hello! My name is Frankie. I’m a 13 year old mini dachshund. I have two sisters and two loving parents. I love to play ball and hunt down crumbs for fun.
Post check-up on January 29th, my blood panel revealed I was anemic. I was losing red blood cells. My Veterinarian suggested my parents run an ultrasound. After completing the ultrasound on Feb. 3rd, I was told that I had a 10 cm mass on my liver. In the ultrasound report, it suggested we run a CT scan to see if the mass had spread into my liver and to see If it could be resected. On Feb 6th I had completed my CT scan and my vet gave us our first good news. The report showed that mass did not metastasize and it had a chance to be removed. My veterinarian contacted her surgeon to see if he could take a look and see if he could operate.
This morning, my parents recevied a promising call. The surgeon said it could be removed! However, he did not feel comfortable removing it at their facility and I would need to be in a facility that offered 24 hour care. So, my veterinarian recommended Dr. Cambridge with Veterinary Surgical Specialist. I have an appointment to see Dr. Cambridge on Feb 18th with possible next day surgery. The cost of the surgery could be 4-5k but we won't know for sure until we meet with them.
My parents do not like asking for help as they understand that I am their responsibility. Even so, we are opening up a place for donations to those who have requested to donate on my behalf. My parents have spent a small fortune with running the tests but I know they are happy doing this because they love me very much and had promised to take care of me to their best ability.
