My beautiful friend, Rosalinda, died Monday June 1, 2020, leaving behind her three daughters and her granddaughter who were her heart and soul.
If you ask anyone who worked with Rosalinda, I believe they would tell you that she was just a joy to be around. Always welcoming, eager to learn and just as eager to pass on what she learned to others. The mission of her office was to help those who were taken advantage of, or preyed upon, which fit seamlessly with who Rosalinda was as a person. She treated every person she encountered, no matter their station in life, with decency and compassion.
But the core of Rosalinda centered on her family. She never really got over the loss of her husband, her partner Joe, and mourned his death until she died. She always described Joe as someone who was the ultimate protector and caretaker of his family and she fiercely carried on in his place after he died. But the arrival of her granddaughter, Frankie, ignited a new spark of joy in Rosalinda. As warm and maternal as Rosalinda was, she was perfectly suited to be a grandmother and she took on the role with endless energy and devotion.
Frankie is now enrolled in the University of Kansas and hoping to return to that campus in the fall. It is to honor Rosalinda that we have established this account to support Frankie in continuing her education.
Descanse en Paz Rosalinda,
