Frankenstein in South Korea!

Donation protected
In 2025, Edge Hill University had the honour of hosting the English-language premier performance of Brandon Lee and Wang Yong Beom's Frankenstein, one of the most popular shows in South Korean musical theatre. Translated and produced by musical theatre lecturer Rebekah Pritchard, directed by drama lecturer Catherine Quirk, and choreographed by musical theatre and dance lecturer Rowena Gander, this ground-breaking show featured performers from Edge Hill and Dankook Universities.

In 2026, we have been invited to perform a concert version of the same English-language version of the show at the Daegu International Musical Festival. Casting has been decided, costumes prepped, flights booked, and we're all very excited to continue the Frankenstein journey!

However, our funding for this next stage of the adventure is very limited. We could really use your help in supporting Edge Hill students in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! All donations will be divided equally between the students travelling to South Korea this summer, and will contribute towards travel costs and daily necessities once there.

We will be holding an open rehearsal at Edge Hill University on Tuesday 19 May, from 2pm in the Studio Theatre. Please come along and support the students that way as well! Cash donations will also be accepted on the day, if preferable.
