Frank Weigle's Memorial Fund

We are all devastated at the loss of our dear friend Frank Weigle. Frank joined the system in April 1988. He was an Investigator in the Boulder Office, retired in October 2018, and came out of retirement to help the Boulder office in April of this year.

 

Frank was a dedicated Public Defender and leader in the system. He cared about the system, our clients, and the investigator group. He was critical in shaping the investigator policies and procedures into what we have today. He was a mentor, well respected in the community, and a friend to many.

 

In addition to his dedication and work with the Public Defender he also volunteered his time and was a board member at The Inn Between for many years. For those of you not familiar with The Inn Between, it is a non-profit organization that provides supportive housing and promotes stability to diverse homeless families and individuals. Frank had a special place in his heart for the homeless community and juveniles.

 

Frank was a devoted father, grandfather, and brother. He leaves behind two children, Elias and Annika, his two grandchildren, Prometheus and Audun, and his sister Martha. He enjoyed road trips, the outdoors, and finding the best restaurants. He loved to play hockey, salsa dancing, and was a great photographer. For many years he was the designated conference photographer.

 

Frank will missed by his Boulder family and many in the system.
