In the heart of Kansas City’s historic Northeast neighborhood (64124) stands Frank, a 250-year-old white oak certified by the Missouri Department of Conservation as one of the state’s cherished Liberty Trees.
For two and a half centuries, Frank has shaded generations, weathered storms, and stood as a symbol of Missouri’s enduring spirit. But now, due to fungal root disease, this ancient oak must be removed for safety reasons. Before Frank falls, we’re honoring his incredible life with a Champagne Funeral — a celebration of history, community, and renewal.
About the Event — The Champagne Funeral for Frank
On December 6, neighbors, conservationists, and nature lovers will gather to celebrate a life that began before Missouri was even a state.
FREE Public Memorial Ceremony - 3 PM: A heartfelt farewell featuring readings, storytelling, and a final toast beneath Frank’s branches.
