This family goes above and beyond to always help others. Now they need our help. I encourage you to give, even if it's only $10. $200,000 is a lot to stay alive, but nothing if we all come together to save a life. Please see Frank's story below.
Pacemaker and benefit update:
My insurance denied the pacemaker replacement at Cleveland Clinic because they say an in network hospital can do it. Cleveland Clinic is the only hospital that can extract the old leads. If it was just the pacemaker, Ashtabula would've had it replaced 12/21. The appeal is between my insurance and Cleveland Clinic. All I can do is wait. Cleveland Clinic's estimate for the pacemaker replacement is $91,000.00 and because my insurance denied it, they want $50,000.00 before surgery. With the lead extraction it will probably be more than $200,000.00. The leads could not be disconnected so they need to be cut and extracted. The Cleveland Clinic financial department is trying to get an administrator to approve the surgery without a 50% cash down payment. In addition to the Cleveland Clinic bill, I'll be getting bills from Ashtabula for the 12/21 surgery. Somehow, the surgery has to be approved for 2/15. As of my mid November pacemaker check, my pacemaker battery end of life is 2/25.
