Hi ! My name is Lisa and I'm launching this GFM to help support another one of our brand-new rescue's heartworm-positive Pugs, FRANK.

PUGS AND HUGS RESCUE, Inc is based in Nevada and Colorado where we are PACFA licensed. Frank is only 1 year old and is Heartworm positive. He is beginning the very painful, and very expensive treatment plan ...it begins with a month of Doxycycline followed by the painful shots , two of which are given a day apart and require hospitalization. Further, he cannot be neutered or undergo anesthesia before 6 months has passed, tying up a much-needed foster in the Houston area. Heartworm is indiscriminate, it invades the heart from the bite of a mosquito carrier. Heartworm preventative is easy (monthly chewable or once a year injection) but so many "backyard" irresponsible breeders do not take animals to the vet and leave them outside year round. We need your support, a dollar is impactful and helpful, more if you can afford it and care to help us; it is SO appreciated .... we seek to help Pugs no matter where they are and give them their best health and life possible. Please help us stay afloat so we can continue to help more Pugs and small dogs. We are all volunteers, we are foster-based, ethical and thorough .
