Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to Frank Lawrence a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, cherished friend, and dedicated official.
It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of Frank Lawrence, who left us in the early morning hours of September 14th after a courageous battle with cancer.
Frank was more than a husband, father, and grandfather, he was a pillar in the lacrosse community across Ontario, Canada, and beyond. For over 30 years, Frank dedicated his time, energy, and heart to the sport he loved. Whether it was on the floor, the field, or in the stands, he was always there, not for recognition, but for the love of the game and the people in it.
He was the kind of man who would skip work to officiate games, never expecting a dime. He mentored countless young officials, offered support to anyone in need, and always gave more than he received. His legacy is etched in the lives of those he touched and the countless hours he gave to help others succeed.
Not only was Frank generous with his time, but his selflessness extended to even the smallest moments. I often saw him pay to enter a lacrosse game, even though he was eligible for free admission due to his officiating credentials. The first time I witnessed this, I asked if he had forgotten his card. He simply smiled and replied, “The teams need the money to operate.” That was Frank, always putting others first, quietly and without fanfare.
Now, in our time of loss, we are reaching out to the community that Frank loved so deeply. We are asking for support to help cover funeral expenses and to give Frank the heartfelt farewell he deserves. Any additional funds will go toward supporting his family during this incredibly difficult time.
Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference. Your generosity, prayers, and support mean the world to us as we honor Frank’s memory and carry forward his spirit of giving back.
We will share details about funeral arrangements as soon as they are confirmed.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
From one Lacrosse family to another.
