Good evening, Facebook family and friends. I am Frank's

Mother. I am Cheryl Thornton Wood.I am seeking your help because Frank Joseph Wood, my son, passed away on Sunday 11/19/2023. Many of you knew him as, " Joe Joe." He was driving a cab last Sunday, trying to make money ( provide,) for his wife and daughter of only 1 year and 7 months old.

Unfortunately, he did not have life insurance. He suffered a heart attack. He was revived but passed away in the hospital. To add insult to injury, a homeless man attempted to steal his fare money and his cab when the ambulance arrived. Thank God, for the EMTs and the NYPD, the man was arrested, driving my son's cab. They say we might have to go through civil courts in New York to retrieve the cab. That seems to be months down the road. It depends on if he owned the cab or leased the cab. We do not know yet. Paper works are in the cab.

But right now, my daughter-in-love and I want to give him a decent memorial service and burial. Neither one of us wants his body cremated. All of my Mother's family lives in New York. They recently had to bury my cousin and Uncle. 04/2022 and 09/2022. So funds are very low for them, also.

I am back in Philly with my 2 teenage grandchildren. We have to go to New York within 2-3 days to get his body released to a funeral director. No release to a funeral can be done without funds for the transport and embalming of the body.

I had an interview for a job at a nursing home, on Friday, but of course I had to reschedule that until I can plan my son's burial.

My daughter in law is overwhelmed and said that her daughter, is crying and not sleeping asking for her Daddy.She is only 2 years old.

So she asked me to handle the arrangements with my cousins from New York.

Please help even if it's only one dollar. He has a wife and daughter who must continue after this service.It is much appreciated no matter how small or large the donation. Please share this post.

The funeral was posted. It was beautiful. It was held on Thursday- 12/28/2023.

It was at the Miles Funeral Home in Brooklyn, NY. They gave us great service!
