Frank DiBerardino medical fund

In March of 2016 our nephew Frank was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.  After 4 days he was stabilized and able to have an angiogram.  It revealed he had cardiomyopathy a left bundle branch blockage and ejection fraction of only 10% with severe congestive heart failure.  Simple terms meaning the right side of his heart is completely blocked and the left side took over.  This caused his heart to become enlarged and fill with fluid and have a 10% ejection fraction.  At this point, the doctors assessed Frank to be too unstable to do anything and started on medication therapy.   After a week in the hospital he was released home with a life vest that would shock him if his heart were to stop.  The next 2 months were spent back and forth to the hospital due to his heart getting weaker.  After fighting endlessly with the insurance company for a pacemaker defibulator that Frank desperately needed, they finally agreed to just the pacemaker.  On May 4th the pacemaker was surgically implanted.  This not being a cure, but it would help keep him alive by forcing his heart to beat.  After a week in the hospital, he was released but still sent home with the life vest.  He still had multiple admissions to the hospital.  In July, the insurance finally approved the pacemaker defibrillator.  On August 19th Frank had surgery to remove the pacemaker and put in the pacemaker defibrillator.  Throughout all of this, the rest of Frank's body became weaker too.  He cannot walk long distances or even talk on the phone for long periods of time.  It is very exhausing for him to go to the store and he becomes weaker.  On November 11th Frank was put on a trial where they put a Cardio-MEMS in his pulmonary artery to monitor the pressure in his heart more accurately.  For the first 11 months they were able to concentrate on getting him well.  Bills started piling up and funds were becoming very low.  Medicaid is not an option since none of Frank's doctors participate.  His insurance has ended.  Cobra is the cheapest option since most of Frank's doctors will accept it enabling him to keep all his doctors that worked together to save his life.  Unfortunaley, he is still fighting for permanent disability.  Frank's lawyer said it could take 19-22 months or longer to be resolved.  Since this journey began, the only means of income is from his wife Karyn which is not enough to pay all the houshold bills, copays, prescriptions and medical bills.  The mortgage on the house is now facing foreclosure.  Please help with any monetary donations which will be greatly appreciated during this most difficult and challenging time.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continuous prayers and thoughts.  GOD Bless you all.
