This is 7 year old Franco. He was born a fighter from day one. At birth, he was diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease. Doctors gave him two months to live. At three months old he had his first open heart surgery. Since then, Franco has had a total of 5 surgeries, and he has beat the odds and medical predictions each time. Unfortunately, his most recent, which was a must have, was meet with multiple complications. It took its toll on his little heart and other organs causing him to surrender. He was a true warrior.

This fundraiser was created by friends/coworkers of Franco’s father Rafaello, who is a Letter Carrier with the Postal Service. The family has incurred an incredible amount of unexpected expenses due to being at Boston Children’s Hospital for a whole month with Franco being in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) the entire time. His parents and little sister never left his side, as he was the only thing that mattered.

The monies raised will go directly to the account of the Cruz family. It will cover the stay while in Boston, medical expenses, the cost of the family flying from Boston back to Virginia, and the funeral expenses.
