Our Dad Francisco Uribe was diagnosed with throat Cancer on March 25, 2021.
Our dad had the biopsy on March 29th and also emergency surgery to put a trach in to help him breathe. Dr said that our dad will have to go in for a second surgery to completely remove his voice box as the cancer was on the larynx. We are also waiting to see if it has spread anywhere else as the mass was pretty large.
Dad has also been diagnosed with diabetes on top of this and will have to give himself insulin shots daily. If he does not get them then risk of infection and complications with his surgery are possible. This is a lot for him to process right now and will need continuous care. He does not have health insurance and the bills are coming in so fast. We are all trying to help in the best way we can but we know with the medicines and supplies and future visits it will continue to rise and we don't want our dad to worry about that but just to focus on his recovery.
We don't like asking for help and if you know our dad he is the last one to ask for help. My dad would give you his last dollar to see that you were taken care of. He never puts himself first but we need him to now so he can be here for his kids and grandkids and family. We never thought we would be in this situation but we are praying that he will be ok.
