Hello everyone, my name is Ryan Baker, and I am raising money for my graduation film. As some of you may know, I have been attending film school this year. For our final project, we were assigned to write a script and pitch it before a deciding jury. Of the 16 students in my cohort, 5 films were selected to be made and mine was one of them. Once the films to-be-made were decided, the rest was put up to the filmmakers to make them happen, hence the crowdfunding campaign.

The film I am making is called "Francis Alienated." It follows one morning in the life of a lonely guy, Francis, who has decided that he is going to confess his love to the woman he loves. The problem is she is across town and he experiences intense dream-like fantasies that confuse him and ultimately slow him down.

It will be a comedy of errors with a western twist.

The funds I raise for this project will go entirely toward the film and everything it requires to be made well, namely:

-locations

-transportation

-food

-set decoration

-props

-costumes

-makeup

-camera lens rentals

-other gear rentals

-festival rollout

I have set the lofty goal of fundraising $3000. If we go over that amount, half of every dollar we raise will go to the Canadian Mental Health Association, British Columbia Division. The rest will go to the film.

I've decided to raise money for the CMHA because the film deals with themes of loneliness, an issue that is pervasive among many today, especially in my neighbourhood of East Vancouver. The goal of raising these funds is to enable myself and my team to make the best movie possible, and to provide some help to the community I love, meagre though it may be.

Every donation we receive is taken with immense gratitude and will make a significant difference in the quality of the film, which we aim to submit to festivals. Those who donate non-anonymously will see their name in the credits as "executive producer."
