Francine Swift’s fight

Making lemonade out of lemons… My name is Lorena and OUR friend Francine has been given the ultimate life’s challenge to fight for her life.

This woman, that if you’ve landed here you already know, is above all odds a fighter.

About 3 years ago, we met through music. A big group of us were united through song and a following of SPP from all walks of life. Franny became the lemonade lady. At every concert she came prepared with her delicious recipe to share. She stood her place in line and held a space for all of us as we did for her. It wasn’t long that we discovered that she was a small business owner and at that time celebrating about 3 years of a growing “Perfect Squeeze”. Boy oh boy is her lemonade the best! I learned quickly what a hard working, self sacrificing woman and mother, full of dreams and goals and the best of friends she is.

One concert after the other, as we STANS oooohhhd and awwwed over Alejandro’s talent we also discovered each other. We discovered that we were all looking for friends. A place to belong and to be loved for where we are now. No baggage, just us Now and just music.

i don’t have stories of younger Franny or childhood memories but I do know that she is loving, giving, a dancer, full of life and can hustle like no other.

On Saturday mornings she rented a van, loaded, unloaded, setup and served her delicious “Freshly squeezed” drinks. She would sell out most times I was there with her. Then to clean up, reload, unload and return the van. We didn’t see all the running around to source her fresh ingredients or hand squeeze every lemon, strawberry, blackberry, etc the days before. She did this weekend after weekend without one complaint. Over the years, she developed a following herself! Expanded to new locations (farmers markets and such). She hired in help, good friends of course and was on her way to living her dream and pursuing her many goals.

But then, life happened as it often does and it dealt her some very spoiled lemons.

Her business came to a complete stop. She missed a concert and a silent dance party.

Our loving Francine is going through it. Stage 4 ovarian cancer they say!

Well, we say screw all that! This beautiful lady has so much to do and we can’t let this ruin what she’s built the last 6 years. We can’t let this take her joy, laughter and love 4 life.

As her friends, family, customers or just admirers of her fight, will you join me in helping her stay on her feet while she fights? We will make lemonade out of lemons in our own way.
