A Champion for Disability Rights
Francine Marsh devoted her life to helping people with disabilities. She poured her heart and soul into giving her help, her money, and all her free time to those in need. For over 20 years, she worked tirelessly helping them get the services they needed and giving them the dignity they deserved. Benefits for veterans, financial aid and shelter for those without homes, medical attention for those with health issues—she did it all. She cooked meals and held support groups for those with traumatic brain injuries. Francine had a most generous heart and gave all she had to friends and family.
Suffering many health issues herself, she never stopped to smell the roses. When she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she still worked, unable to forsake those who needed her help.
Francine's idea of rest was to have photographs of benches in quiet, beautiful places. They represented peace and tranquility, time for reflection. She had calendars of benches, posters of benches, photos of benches on her computer. Her Facebook page... a bench.
To honor her memory, I am raising funds to purchase a memorial bench in her name. It will serve as a lasting tribute to her and the community she so generously gave her heart to.
Francine will have a Memorial Bench in one of Bend's city parks where friends, family and people of the community can visit in remembrance. All funds will be used to purchase the bench and brass plaque that will be a permanent memorial.
If you are able, please donate. Any donation, no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated. If not, please share this page so others can.
Thank you for your love, kindness and support.
